The Memphis Chapter of the IMA has established a scholarship fund to provide two $1,000 scholarships annually to local Accounting students who are members of the IMA. The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage and help support accounting students who might have an interest in management accounting as a career. 

Vaco Financial (www.vaco.com) has kindly agreed to help support our fund by co-sponsoring the scholarships.  This has allowed us to increase the amount awarded per year from $500 to $2,000.   

We have received initial contributions to this fund and continue to have activities that will help raise more - but we need your help.  It will take the support of the entire chapter if we want to maintain this for any extended period.  So, here is your opportunity to participate. Please come prepared to "donate" for the drawing at each meeting - special prizes will be awarded. Also, if you are able, make a separate contribution to the fund this year. Any amount of contribution is appreciated.   In addition, if you have any items that we can put in our drawing at each meeting, that would be great as well.  Your company marketing items would work (such as shirts, bags, jackets, planners, etc.) and we will take just about anything (toy Panda bears from the Zoo were a big hit).

If your employer supports charitable projects, please encourage them to consider this fund in their evaluation for awards. Every little bit helps. It is our goal to eventually raise enough funds to support the awards from the earnings of the core fund and increase the size of the scholarships accordingly.
